Startup Weekend Paris: Special Tech Edition – in English!

We’re kicking 2012 off right by bringing a whole new feel to Startup Weekend Paris: a new team, new venues, and a new language! We will be doing more events this year than any other year, and we hope to bring in the most passionate of startupers. For our first event, we’re hoping to bring the ‘action’ back to the startup weekend motto “No Talk. All Action” by making our first event an event focused on the developers and designers!

We’ve opened up registration for developers and designers ONLY for now, though we have reserved a few ‘Biz Guy’ spots as well, so keep an eye out on twitter and facebook for clues as to when those tickets will be made available.

We’re planning on having no more than 100 attendees for this first event; however, if there are enough people asking for it, we may extend that a little further.

The event will be in ENGLISH, which means pitches will be done in english, organizers & speakers will be speaking english, and we will be broadcast the event live – in English. We hope to show the world what France is capable of creating in a weekend! We will be hosting the event at DojoBoost, a new accelerator and private incubator located at 41 boulevard st. martin.

A warm ‘Thank You’ to our previous organizers

Our previous organizers, Clément, Sacha, and Cyril, have all gone on to bigger and better things. Clément’s company DocTrackr has been accepted into TechStars Boston, Sacha’s company Jimmy Fairly is growing daily, and Cyril has gone west for his next big thing. They did a great job building a strong Startup Weekend community in Paris, and we wish them continued success!

Freelance Web Designer/ Founder of Folyo   |

I’m a designer from Paris, France. I specialize in user interfaces for web and mobile apps, and I’ve worked for clients such as Le Monde, Hipmunk, and MileWise. Here are a couple fun facts about me:I co-founded my first “startup” at 17, a second-hand schoolbook marketplace. It never really took off, but we did collect a $2000 prize from the French government.Although I’m a designer, I have a technical background: I studied math & computer sciences for three years in college.I also studied (and speak) Chinese (Mandarin), and spent one year in China studying in Guangzhou and then working in a web agency in Beijing.I got my start as a professional designer by selling HTML templates and WordPress themes on Themeforest.I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Luta Livre, and sometimes in MMA and Muay Thai, too. And I’m generally interested in all martial arts.
